My Career

Growing in Knowlege:

Developing as an Educator

Since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I loved helping my mom in her classroom with grading, organizing, and (as I got older) tutoring. From a young age, I had the patience and passion to help others learn.

After high school, I attended Copper Mountain College and College of the Desert to obtain my associate's degree. I then went on to Cal State San Bernardino where I earned my bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies for Elementary Education, with an emphasis in mathematics. In 2015, I finally finished my college education with a multiple subject teaching credential from National University.

Though, I am no longer taking college classes, I am learning new things everyday from my students, colleagues and mentors, and through the two-year teaching induction program that I completed in 2017. Eventually, I plan to go back to school to obtain a master's degree, but for now, I am loving being able to focus strictly on my classroom and my growing family.

As much as I have learned in my years teaching, I know there is still so much more, and I firmly believe that we can all learn from each other. I will continue sharing my experiences and ideas with other professionals, collaborating with my colleagues, seeking out the best teaching practices, and growing as a professional by taking other classes/seminars to be the best teacher I can be.
